i'm gonna share some ideas with you that i've already shared with another 'asker' here, since you appear to have similar problems. i'll just add some things that are more appropriate for you.
first, fix the thing which is causing you stress. if it can't be fixed right away, avoid it for a while. go some place where you can relax, such as a spa. you can also learn some relaxation techniques such as deep breathing.
next, keep your mind off eating (or wanting to eat). to do this take up a new activity - choose one that will help you in your quest to lose a few pounds. try doing exercises. take regular walks around your neighborhood. exercises relieve stress, boost energy level and can help make you feel good about yourself. not to mention, help you lose several pounds. walking is a great way to practice moving meditation and work through problems. you can try taking up yoga. relaxing your body and mind is a great way to take a step back from big emotions.
other things to help keep your mind off food can be getting in touch with your friends. talking to friends provide you with the support you need, that you have been deflecting to food. drink lots of water. water cleanses the body and helps you feel full without the calories. drink tea. tea curbs cravings and helps make you feel full. add some honey to satisfy your craving for sweets. a good diet basically boils down to eating the right ratio of the different kinds of food. put in some exercise and you should be loosing weight in no time.
